As of now, perhaps everybody has heard about the infamous dress that has caused disagreements all around the globe. If you haven't, then above are pictures of the dress...just ask people around what color they see it and then you'll understand why the controversy LOL.
So,WIRED has one of the most if not the most recent explanation for the DRESS; which is a very important topic by the way, and I believe it to be important because for example NASA could use discoveries derived from this to see things they haven't been able to see in space with their photography as of now. However, I have to contradict with the explanation in WIRED and I agree with what MINDHACKS states in the following article: http://mindhacks.com/2015/02/28/actually-still-no-good-explanation-of-that-dress/ because no matter the time of the day or the lighting around, I and some of my friends still see the dress the same color we see it all the time & in all sorts of regular lighting (white or yellow or fluorescent) whether it is (white & gold, or cream & brown as a few say, or black & blue) at any given time of the day.
I suggest you read the comments of the people in the MINDHACKS.com link above because they could illustrate more about the science behind the dress. Also, I suggest you check out this poll http://www.stilllearning-dac99a.blogspot.com/2015/02/who-saw-what-colors-in-thedress-my-poll.html?m=1 it is from one of the commentators in the MINDHACKS.com link above.
I did a poll with 7people including myself. We were all among 21-30 years old. We saw it under fluorescent lighting. I used the .gif image of the dress, which changes color or shading? Well, that depends on who sees it and here are the results:
4 of us (2 male 2 female) saw the .gif image would change from WHITE & GOLD to BLACK & BLUE.
2 females saw it BLACK & BLUE all the time, and the only thing that would change for them was how light or dark was that Black & BLUE.
1 female saw it White & Gold all the time, and the only thing would change for her was how light or dark was that WHITE & GOLD!
Now, I know for sure that one of the ladies who saw it BLACK & BLUE only, has a serious eye problem. I am yet to find out about the other 2 ladies who saw it either WHITE & GOLD or BLACK & BLUE only. Also, I read on one of the commentaries in the MINDHACKS link above that a gentlemen with a cataract on his left eye and having a cataract removed on the right eye sees it Black & BLUE on the right eye, and WHITE & GOLD on the left eye...So, does the solution lies there? We do not know that for sure yet, but we'll see.
As I stated before it is imperative we understand the science behind this. I can't wait.
